Maryland...

MD 23:
A 2-lane expressway in Northeastern Maryland connecting US 1 in Bel Air to MD 165 in Putnam. Combined with the US 1 Bel Air Bypass and MD 24, Putnam has an expressway straight down to I-95. A stub ending at the current western terminus hints of a possible future extension to the west.

MD 24:
A 4-to-6-lane divided suburban expressway connecting Bel Air and Edgewood to I-95. While the area around it has developed heavily, the highway is still uncongested, although there are 3-4 lights right near each other at the north end of the expressway. There are no driveways from the beginning of MD 24 in Edgewood to US 1 in Bel Air.

The new alignment routing was built in the late 1980's. The old road became MD
924.

US 29:
US 29 is an expressway from MD 650 north to MD 216, where it becomes a freeway. There are few driveways, and almost no new driveways are allowed. Interchanges are planned at all the at-grades on the expressway. For more information on the construction process see:

MD 32:
Between the western end of the MD 32 freeway at MD 108 and I-70, MD 32 is a super two expressway with some traffic lights and driveways. An upgrade to a 4-lane freeway is being studied.
MD 36:
Between Loanconing and Westernport this is a Super-2 expressway with several grade separations.
