MD 41 - Perring Parkway:
Summary:
MD 41 is an expressway for its entire legnth. Its northern end is at I-695 and it continues south into Baltimore. The expressway ends at at Echodale Avenue, with a 4-lane boulevard continuing south.
Detailed Description:
Perring Parkway serves as an access road to the northeast area of Baltimore and the suburb of Parkville. Although the term “parkway” is often applied to roads that are completely bland, Perring Parkway actually has nice landscaping, especially when it passes through Mount Pleasant Park. The highway ends in a 1940’s-era development, with brick townhouses as the main form of housing.
History:
Perring Parkway was supposed to continue north of I-95 to Bel Air, as a relief route for US 1, which is a 2-lane road for much of the distance between Baltimore and Bel Air.
Current and Future Improvements:
No improvements are planned.
