US 23:
From the north end of the freeway-grade Marion Bypass, US 23 is a high-speed expressway around Upper Sandusky to the junction with OH 15, a distance of 24 miles. The expressway continues to the northwest as OH 15, the thru route towards Toledo. A Fostoria Bypass is under study.
The four-lane US 23 south of Columbus is mostly not an expressway as it goes thru the downtowns of the towns it passes thru and is a slow road. The exception is the portion from Lucasville to OH 32. This expressway is planned to connect to US 52 east of Portsmouth with a new Portsmouth Bypass.
