This is East Bay Street where to the right is one of the seaports in the city of Charleston. The bridges in the background are the Pearman and Grace bridges for US 17. They will not be around much longer as the new Cooper River bridge is nearing completion.
In order to access US 17 NB, a left turn is made here onto Cooper St. To go on US 17 SB, a left made is need to be made at the Lee St signal.
The "north" cardinal sign once had a large US 17 shield. It is now gone.
A sign here directs you to US 17 NB. Continuing straight leads you to Meeting St (beginning of US 52) and I-26.
Note the two way traffic ahead sign. The Pearman Bridge was a 3 lane configuration, the left lane being southbound US 17, the middle and right lanes for US 17 NB.
